This is a scenario that occurs in all agencies once we receive briefs. It’s important to properly plan available resources to ensure all elements are submitted on time and ready for launch. This is a task that would test your ability in planning and project management which is a key requirement in all project Managers.
This is a short brief you have received from a client you’re in charge of and the next step is to draw a timeline using microsoft excel to showcase how much time it will take to work on each submission (research, campaign direction, film production, influencer agreements…etc.), Make sure to include in the timeline the expected time for revisions, feedback, and final approval. The timeline should be structured on a weekly basis. As a bonus, feel free to include ideas you have that can work for this project.
The brief (sample) – NOMOU Initiative
Date of brief | Concept Approval | Final submission of the artwork | Budget |
1st July | 15 August | 15 September | 100,000 OMR |
The Ministry of Labor is launching a nationwide initiative called “NOMOU”, designed to solve a long-standing challenge in the public sector: the lack of continuous professional development among government employees. The goal is to create a unified framework that empowers employees to grow, develop new skills, and take ownership of their career paths — ultimately enhancing government performance and employee satisfaction.
1- Excel sheet of the project timeline showcasing the full process from day of brief to the end of the campaign. Include the time taken for every phase in this project (briefing, concept development, approvals, selection of influencers… etc.)
2- Basic division of the campaign budget between media buying, influencers, production, initiatives…etc
Bonus – Share with us your ideas for this campaign that you think will help achieve the set objectives.
Imagine the following scenario occurred during the process of working on the brief above.
The scenario is as follows
After you received the approval on the concept that was presented to the client and 2 weeks have passed, the client contacted you for a change of heart and mind in the direction that was selected and would like you to work on a completely new concept from scratch. Given the time you have left until launch (which isn’t much) and the fact that the production company and other parties were briefed already, share with us how you would deal with such a scenario?
Share how you would respond to this situation, how you will manage the client and what you will say in your communication (call, meeting, email…etc) with the client.
